Helene Sorensen - Farm (Peas and Music)
This mini art installation for the New Pretenders Exhibition at Barge House Gallery, London, 2011 presented elements of quasi-scientific methods and props that come from a proposal once made that playing music to plants could promote growth.
Small speakers placed close to the containers play several different sounds simultaneously for the plants. Visitors to this farm installation could pick up the strains of Beethoven’s symphony no. 6 amongst others.
